Non-season ticket concert
Featuring the works of Morten Lauridsen, Francis Poulenc and Ottorino Respighi
The second non-season ticket concert of our exciting season embraces the incomparable Advent and Christmas period. Branching out from the loveliest European Christmas songs (songs dedicated to the Virgin Mary and Christmas carols), we will also take a trip to other continents for a glimpse into how far-flung cultures experience the Christmas anticipation and the mystery of the holiday. From simple song arrangements accompanied by piano to the most audacious multi-part choral works, our journey will be accompanied by love throughout.
The concert will conclude with Ottorino Respighi’s wonderful cantata Lauda per la Natività del Signore, which conjures for celebratory light in the days leading up to Christmas.
This concert too will feature soloists from the Hungarian National Choir and the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, accompanied by pianist Dóra Bizják. Conductor: Csaba Somos.
