Szilvia Vörös is a soloist of the Hungarian State Opera, her roles have been so far: Fenena (Nabucco), High Priestess (Aida), Siebel (Faust), Bersi (Andrea Chenier), Suzuki (Madama Butterfly), Waltraute (Die Walküre), Suora infermiera (Suor Angelica), 3rd Maid (Elektra). She was born into a family of musicians on 27th of April 1988. She completed her secondary education in Pápa, and, in 2008, while a pupil of Veronika Dobi-Kiss, won first prize in the 6th Simandy Hungarian National Singing Competition. In that year she began her studies at the Franz Liszt Music University, Budapest, as a pupil of Éva Marton, where she finished the Opera course in 2013 and the Teaching course in 2014. As a soloist she has made several appearances at the Budapest Palace of Arts, in the Great Hall of the Music Academy and in a great many of churches. Abroad she has sung in Brussel in the Hungarian Cultural Institut and in the Royal Library of Belgium, in Dresden Schloss Albrechtsberg. In 2014 she sang 3rd dame in Mozart’s Magic Flute, in a contemporery opera (Out at S.E.A – in role of Medium) in Budapest, Milan, Paris that has been ordered by Péter Eötvös Foundation and 3rd Maid in Elektra by Richard Strauss. She has also sung frequently in oratorio - including pieces of Buxtehude, Pergolesi, Bach, Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Rossini, Bruckner and Arvo Pärt. She has worked on stage with Marco Armiliato, Patrick Fournillier, Maurizio Benini, and as a concert soloist with Carlo Montanaro, Ádám Fischer, Michael Schonwandt, Zoltán Kocsis, Marco Comin. She has taken part in numerous master- classes including those with Éva Marton, Nicholas Clapton and Andrea Meláth, Francesco Torreggiani, Leonardo de Lisi, Alberto Gazale and Elena Lo Forte, Sylvia Sass.
In May 2011 she was awarded the Gundel Art Prize (opera singer category) and in 2012 the Junior Prima Prize. In September 2014 she won the Ist Eva Marton International Singing Competion’s Grand Prix. In September 2015 she got a special prize in the Competizione dell’Opera Singing Competition’s final in Linz.
In 2016 she was able to participate the Young Singers Project in Salzburg. She has sung on the side of Anna Netrebko in Manon Lescaut by Puccini and Placido Domingo in Thais by Massenet.
