Szilveszter Szélpál earned his degree in solo voice from the University of Szeged’s Faculty of Music in 2011 after training under Mária Temesi and István Andrejcsik. He has sung at the National Theatre of Szeged since 2009.
His principal roles include Béni in King Pomádé’s New Clothes, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Dancaïre in Carmen and Douphol in La traviata. In 2015, the Szeged Friends of the Opera Society presented him with their Young Singer of the Year award, and he also won the Dömötör Award the following year.
