My name is Marianna Pleszkán. I was born in Budapest on 9 December 1961. From 1976 to 1980, I was a student of Ottó Kertész at the Béla Bartók Music High School in Miskolc. I was a student of Ede Banda at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, and graduated as a cellist and music teacher in 1985. Between 1988 and 1992, I played the cello in the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra. I really love teaching, and have worked at King Saint Stephen High School, the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and the Béla Bartók Music High School in Miskolc. I have been playing in the Budapest Cello Ensemble for more than 15 years. In 1991, I realised a dream when I was accepted into the Hungarian Philharmonic Orchestra.
