I am fortunate to be able to take part in marvellous concerts as a member of the Hungarian National Choir. I get to work together with the sort of artists for whom professional skill and human relationships are both important. This enables me to face the audience continuously renewed and recharged as a choral singer.
Dóra Galgóczy has been a member of the Hungarian National Choir's alto section since October 2000. Although her work as a soloist has chiefly focused on the oratorios of Pergolesi, Vivaldi, Bach, Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven, she has also sung roles in numerous operas, including Ravel's L'enfant et les sortilèges. As a child, she studied violin, and later took up the viola. She was 16 when she started to sing. In 2004, she earned her degree in solo voice and chamber voice from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music's Budapest Pedagogical Institute, under the guidance of Zsuzsa Forrai.
