It is a great honour for me to be able to play in the Hungarian National Philharmonic. Ever since joining, I have strived to remain worthy of the orchestra's legacy and perhaps ‒ even if in only a very small way ‒ also contribute to it myself.
Ferenc Farkas commenced his music studies at the age of six at the Balmazújváros Art School. After graduating from the Leó Weiner High School of Music, he enrolled at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music to continue his musical training in 2008, earning master's degrees qualifying him as an artist and teacher of the arts. In 2010, he won a full scholarship to attend the Bard College Conservatory of Music in the United States. He then launched his career with the MÁV Symphony Orchestra, and later on joined the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra. He has tested himself at competitions both in Hungary and abroad, taking home numerous awards. In 2019 and 2020 he won the Annie Fischer music performance scholarship. He currently teaches at the Béla Bartók Conservatory and performs with the Hungarian National Philharmonic.
