Tamás Dunai was born in 1949 and graduated from the Szeged JATE University in 1973 where he studied French and Hungarian language and literature. In 1976, he also completed the College for Theatre and Film Studies. In 1967, he began performing at the Szeged University Theatre and in 1976, joined the Madách Theatre. Since 1992, he has worked as a freelance actor.He appears in a number of Budapest and provincial theatres and has performed his own shows all over the country. Since 1997, he has taught music at the University of Theatre and Film Studies. As a member of the Színészzenekar (Actor's Orchestra) he plays clarinet and saxophone and frequently performs as a guest with the Budapest Dixieland Band and the Budapest Klezmer Band.
