Audition time: 5 June 2018, 10 am

Audition location: Rehearsal room of the Hungarian National Philharmonic, Müpa Budapest, 1095 Budapest, Komor Marcell utca 1. 6th floor

The audition will be in three rounds.

First round:

1. Haydn: Cello concerto in D major, mvt. I, at any cadence + orchestral passages

Second round:

Dvořák: Cello concerto in B minor, mvt. I (Exposition) + orchestral passages

Third round:

Orchestral passages

Beethoven:       Symphony No. 8 – Menuetto – Trio

Bartók:             The Miraculous Mandarin: 74-76

Dohnányi:         Symphonic Minutes: 10 after 13-17

Verdi:               Requiem: Offertorio, 1-46

Wagner:            Flying Dutchman: overture, from upbeat of H to K

Brahms:            Piano Concerto in B major: mvt. III, 10 after A and D to end

Rossini: William Tell: overture to 48

Shostakovich:   Symphony No. 15, mvt. II, solo

The score for the orchestral passages can be downloaded here, or can be collected up from the orchestra’s music library.

A piano accompanist will be provided by the orchestra for the audition.
