A Nemzeti Filharmonikusok és a Zeneakadémia közös rendezvénye.
The programme features works by Zoltán Kodály on the eve of the fiftieth anniversary of his death, but it is also dedicated to the forgotten maestro, Hans Koessler who made his name in Hungarian music history as the music-academy professor of Béla Bartók, Ernő Dohnányi, Imre Kálmán and Leo Weiner. Composed in 1917 for an important concert in Vienna presenting the military music of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, Zoltán Kodály’s series of soldier’s songs can be rarely heard on the concert stage. This is followed by three classics by Kodály, highlighting his many-coloured oeuvre, including one of his most ambitious oratorios. This is performed by excellent soloists under the baton of the most successful Hungarian conductors of recent years, considered to be one of his generation’s excellences in Europe.
